Agricultural film
Recycling of agricultural film: back to original usage
Challenge
The recycling of heavily contaminated agricultural film, which consists of various different polyethylenes, is particularly tricky. This type of film is often contaminated with a variety of impurities, including minerals, organic materials and water-soluble substances. This makes the recycling process very complex, with innovative solutions needed in order to be able to reuse these valuable materials efficiently.
Solution
The first steps involved in successfully recycling agricultural film are thorough pre-shredding and pre-cleaning. The HydroCleaner plays a vital role in this: first, it chops up tightly bundled film packets, often clumped in layers of ten or more. It then removes even the finest mineral deposits and prevents recontamination through purified process water. This is ensured by the separate water circuits in the HydroDyn systems.
In a nutshell
the outstanding features of HydroDyn technology
Smart Process Water
Separate water circuits, ultrafiltration and the HydroDyn firewall guarantee the outstanding purity of the recyclate. This minimises recontamination from process water and also reduces water loss.
Cold Wash
The principle of hydrodynamic friction ensures clean separation of film parts and unparalleled cleanliness, even in the case of adhesive contamination – and without the need to wash using hot water.
Low Wear
mineral impurities are known for their abrasive effect, which poses a challenge for many appliances. However, this is no problem for the stainless-steel ceramic tools used in the HydroCleaner.
