New life for all types of polymers
There are a few materials that are easily recyclable and can be reused in their original form. However, most are currently still ‘downcycled’, meaning that, in the case of plastics, the polymer material is lost after the initial use. HydroDyn is determined to change this dynamic – and many of the projects we have undertaken with our customers show that our pioneering HydroCleaner technology is doing just that. Below is a brief overview of polymers that we can recycle through highly innovative processes.
Rigid polymers
Known for its easy recyclability, this is a much sought-after material in the circular economy and plays a key role in the value chain.

PET
Although this is recyclable, it poses a challenge. HydroDyn offers a special cold wash for this.

Household films
Due to their wide variety and printed surfaces, special processes are needed to ensure successful recycling.

Stretch film
Often used in retail packaging, it is contaminated by the use of labels, which need to be separated from the stretch film prior to recycling.

Big bags
Often filled with water-soluble contents such as fertilisers, big bags need custom water-treatment solutions to prepare them for recycling.

Agricultural film
Despite heavy soiling, this can be recycled effectively as it can be separated and collected before being specially processed.

Nets and cords
These are quite difficult to clean due to their dense structure. However, they can be easily separated with our special HydroCleaner rotary tools.

Metallised film
These currently end up in incinerators. However, this doesn’t need to be the case. With our HydroCleaner technology, the aluminium layers can even be removed from film, enabling valuable recycling.

Deinking
The removal of printed inks is one of the technological strengths of HydroDyn – thanks to our efficient soaking and agitation times.
